that's a good cut!
29 June 2021
Goes to show studios know nothing. Much more enjoyable, layed out, exposed, all those good keywords to adjectivese a story. Very enjoyable. And the end teaser had me on the edge of my seat super excited about what could come, if studios would stop butting in and ruining a medium/artform they know nothing about. Its incredible what a cut desicion can do to a movie!

Unfortunate
10 May 2021
This is a movie that treats teenagers like extreme idiots, plain and simple. It's unfortunate that there wasn't a deeper character development (there was none) and just plainly stated "teens are dumb so this all happens". I mean, the premise of the movie is cool, some new ideas, and the overall idea the movie explores is amazing to think about, but this movie didn't want to be something special. It took a interesting topic and reduced the characters to characterizations.

Dumb at every turn
11 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Protocols are dumb, decisions are dumb. It's like they deliberately dumbed everything down in order for the zombies to win. Highly unlikely scenario for a colony on Mars to have been established with such dumbness surrounding everything. Writing is somewhat dumb also. It's just a dumb "we have to make it easy ta every turn for the zombies to infected everything" movie.

Good production, a bit underwhelming.

Some horror movies have interesting events in between the horror bits. I found this movie got me bored when there wasn't much going on in the way of horror.

Underwater (2020)

Lame
9 April 2020
I think we can all agree we don't need any more Kristen Stewart playing the sexy, emotionally struggling character anymore. Please, enough of this role. Secondly, the sci-fi bits of the movie are that a drill is underwater, and the drill station's interiors are "sci-fi-y", like something in outer space kinda of deal. I appreciated all 5 or 6 seconds of shots that appeared throughout the hour and a half long movie. Lastly, the ending was not in-tune with what "the scientist" brought us to consider. Nothing new in this movie. Just an older Kristen Stewart, and underwater setting for "things gone wrong and there's a monster". Because of course there is a monster, otherwise where would the agency be. And a lot of walking. And stopping. And walking. And "oh no, he died". What a waste. Looked like this was made in the 90's. Trope movie. :/

Terrible excuse for a movie
26 November 2019
This is a amateur homemade attempt at a movie. Script is incredibly barebone, characters are dumb, acting is amateurish and terribly delivered. It's difficult to watch. Amateurish. Boring. Dumb.

Mind-numbingly boring
12 August 2019
Same screenplay/plot/tropes we've seen hundreds of times. What a boring movie. Maybe It would have excited me if it had been released in 1985. But man, not for a 2008 movie. And to see it in 2019? What a booooore.

Video games as art.

Music is considered art. This game has inticing music. Graphics (paintings) are considered art. This game has great graphics. Books (story telling) is considered art. This game has well written story telling. This game is a piece of art.

Probably the best and funniest of Mathew Perry's performance in any episode of Friends. "Hello sweet pants!"

Your regular boring b-movie
10 July 2018
Boring. Un-interesting. Useless. Time-waster. Mediocre/bad CGI. Green screen, hi, i can see you! Bad editing; shots are inconsistent with previous ones (some blantant). No soundtrack, just some sounds. The end credits now say it was kickstarted. Ok. Still, its kinda bad.

I will add though, the idea of the plot is interesting, if only it had been better executed.

Quirkier action/comedy and it's OK!
5 July 2018
Thor: Ragnarok is a quirkier action/comedy movie. And it is OK!

It's what we've seen from the comedy-injected Marvel movies. Thor:Ragnarok goes a little bit further though, and take itself a bit less serious. And it's OK!

There's action, story, comedy. The whole shebang!

What this movie did is not make you bored, ever. And it is OK!

That said, I'm not a comic book connoisseur. Just come to better know the Marvel universe from the movies.

Been reading negative reviews about character, seriousness of the movie, and it seems to me that these reviewers (who give 1/10) are people who have serious expectations for a movie. In no way does this movie deserve a 1/10. There's so much in it to NOT deserve this rating. Movies CAN be easy to watch and provide entertainment.

More than meets the eye (terrible size pun, shame!)
22 March 2018
But seriously. At first the movie's premise sounded like it would make for one of those silly movies, with one of those big, out of the box, semi-silly ideas. And the movie delivered on that for much of the movie. Shrinking people to save the planet. It's kind of stupid (think wildlife, how easy it would be to kill 5000 thousand people inside a small town with a bowling ball, etc). But this movie tried to be a bit more than that the silly idea. It goes one step further into the philosophical, and in my opinion it doesn't disappoint. The theme of the philosophical idea is not an original idea, but one that's important to be reminded.

Geostorm (2017)

Boring!
19 February 2018
We all know them. A big storm, a big meteor, a big hurricane, a big earthquake.

They make for some spectacular visuals, but generally, little more.

Geostorm managed to do a little less.

The movie uses the tired recipe for an "apocalypse movie", which it followed by the book and didn't bring anything new; i'm ok with an old recipe as long as it has some new perspective; Dialogue we haven't heard, an idea we haven't thought of, some impressive visual we haven't seen; this movie has nothing.

"Predictable in it's events, mediocre casting, mediocre/bad directing and poor writing" is how i describe this movie. In other words, boring!

If you've seen Deep Impact, or Armageddon you don't need to see this. Visuals aren't even that great - watch Elon Musk's car floating in space instead! It's more rewarding.

Suicide Squad (2016)

Nothing new - not even current.
21 December 2016
I went into this movie hoping for something on the lines on a newer look at superheroes, like something Christopher Knolan brought - some seriousness and maturity to the theme. What i got was a look back at old, beaten, tried and pop-cultured turd of a superhero movie.

With the vibe of this 90's movies explained (yes, this was filmed in the 90's - i am sure of it), let me get down to the story line, which also follows a beaten, tired and old trope where something goes bad and they manage to get a gang of misfits to fight together for a greater good. Now, i don't want to go into this subject because frankly it's just too old, boring and quite frankly an insult to movie goers in this day and age.

Now for the direct attacks to this pile of Sunday afternoon excuse for a movie.

1 - What is Will Smith doing on the screen? We had enough of him already, not to mention he is reprising roles that have come to outgrow him. His last shot was Hancock, a tired, old and beaten down drunk of a hero. He should have stayed down. Bo-ring!

2- These are villains. They are not renegade heroes turned good again. You murdered these villains.

The *only* thing good to come out of this movie is Harley Quinn. Loved the actor and the love story with the (trying not to laugh at how mundane the Joker was) her love.

To finish i'll just say; Wow, what a re-polished piece of crap of a movie, definitely not a new look at anything!

Awesome

I don't understand the bad rating for this movie, at all! Great movie man. Wonderful cast, and the movie has greats moments and some powerful messages. Shaking my head at the 5 rating on IMDb. 10/10. All i can say after watching the movie, and speaking about the low ratings it gets is that the movie targets exactly the why of the low rating it has. People's lack of understanding, care and..well, love. I advise you to watch this. Just for sake of having to add the necessary 10 lines of text for the IMDb review - which i don't understand; when the world communicates at 140 characters at a time - again, i would watch the movie, if you haven't already.

What a waste of my time.
23 March 2016
You cringe at reading "Dane Cook" as one of the actors in the movie. You give it a chance. You see the lack of money put into this movie by looking at the props and the amount of people in crowds. You give it a chance. Appearances aren't everything. You start to get tired of the non-unfolding and never ending suspense. You give it a chance. You start to realize the terrible acting. You give it a chance. With your last drop of patience, you hold on to the story hoping for some interesting view of the world.

No chance.

This movie was a pure and utter waste of time.

Uninspired
27 January 2016
there's movies that are so bad, they become good. this is not one of them. terrible, watered down attempts at insightful intelligent thoughts is how i'd categorize this movie script's supposedly high points. it's story is less interesting as the story of how an un-smeared steaming dog turd in the middle on a busy street has maintained intact. acting reflects the story, uninteresting. as to respecting the character and it's origins, it's obvious the writers have no idea, or do not care. bottom line, i've spent more time interested in no-brainer eating competitions than in this movie. mediocre, at best.

for the fans
1 May 2015
I for one enjoyed the movie. I was glad that Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey paired up again, and that the Ferrel brothers made the movie happen. First off i'd start by saying...what can you expect from a long due (20 years) sequel to a weird (in a good way) movie like Dumb and Dumber, with it's original actors? Say your grace the writers where the same as the original movie. It could have sucked way, way more. So, original actors, check! Original writers, check! The writing is not bad like you see in some movies where you just want to turn off the TV, neither are the performances of the actors. No sub-par acting to my view. The movie basically is not under par in my point of view. It did what it intended to do, and very well if you ask me. It continued the life story of Harry and Lloyd. It's a good movie for what it is. A (very) long awaited sequel to a movie critically acclaimed by it's fans. And i'm glad the brothers made it. It's a well deserved part 2. Original actors, original writers, like i said, not under par and enjoyable.

waste
26 June 2014
Honestly, they would have done the world a favor by feeding the poor, as opposed to making this movie. Seriously, who allows money to be spent?

So much is bad with this movie. It is poor in execution and nearly every other aspect a movie can fail on. The only exception being the idea behind the film, which can always be saved / turned into an amazing movie when there's a good director/writer/screen-adapter.

This movie could be 10 minutes long and it would have probably been better that it was, seeing the level of boredom peeks from a 10 to a 3 in 2.0 seconds.

I only hope the following movies make this a watch-worth franchise because this movie alone cannot even be used to wipe ass.

I'll say one or two good points about the visuals. There is a nice forest and a well designed futuristic city. That's it. And a cute girl. The rest is just awful.
