Shaitaan (2024)
Ruined Potential and Good Story through mediocre Production
"Shaitaan (2024)" initially captivates audiences with promising natural performances, particularly from Aadhav. However, as the film progresses, it falters in its execution, particularly in the last third. Despite commendable acting, notably from Madhavan, Ajay Devgn's lackluster portrayal detracts from the overall experience. The film's direction suffers from evident low effort and budget constraints, leading to technical and editing issues, which ultimately hinder the film's coherence. The drawn-out climax further exacerbates these flaws, diluting the essence of the movie's fitness narrative. While "Shaitaan" shows potential, especially in its early stages, its inability to deliver a cohesive and satisfying conclusion leaves much to be desired.
Hatyapuri (2022)
Great story with lost potential due to the typical direction
What a great story created by the none other than Sattayajit Ray!
However again list the potential even at this age with such good support and equipments by Sandip Ray! He really needs to put effort on making things right and not predictable. The story in the book and movie has two different flavors which he keeps on losing. More than that the biggest issue comes into the story telling and way of driving the viewers mind! It's painfully slow and terribly predictable that we only watch for the love of the series created by the books only
Sad to say and its a reality of this is the benchmark, then the new generation online will divert to order directives and will never know how good the great Feluda was.
Dancing on the Grave (2023)
Excellent Story; Remarkable Cinematography; Rubbish Storytelling!
Amazing story with some story that needs to be heard! Human at their most brutal sight and without even a beat from their heart. Rarest of the Rarest!
However very bad way of narrating the story! If I had not got recommendations from relevant people K might have stopped watching it the story was breaking every single time something came to surface. First two episodes were nothing but unnecessarily vague way of projecting the main hook of the storyline.
But i will have to commend the cinematography and the footage collection. Very much gave the whole thing a life and did not only had to walk on the story tellers abilities.
Nonetheless, it is a Must Watch, even to put a tribute to the subject!
Thirteen Lives (2022)

"Thirteen Lives" stands as an extraordinary cinematic achievement, immediately drawing audiences into its captivating narrative without a moment's delay. The film's brilliance lies in its meticulous attention to detail, crafting each frame with precision and purpose. A stellar cast delivers performances that are nothing short of outstanding, breathing life into characters with depth and authenticity.
What sets "Thirteen Lives" apart is its profound exploration of resilience and the intricate threads that bind us as human beings. The storytelling is not merely a sequence of events but a poignant statement on the beauty of human connection, echoing through every scene. The film unfolds like a work of art, with each frame serving as a canvas for the actors' commitment and the brilliance of the production team.
This is more than just a movie; it's a profound reflection on the complexities of humanity. The narrative is a powerful testament to the enduring strength found in unity and compassion. Professor Shanku O El Dorado (2019)
The Ruins of Sandip Ray
Professor Shonku & El Dorado, a cinematic venture within the legacy of Sir Satyajit Ray, showcases the brilliance of Professor Shonku's adventures. While the essence of Ray's creation is evident, some viewers express concerns about the directorial approach of his son. Despite the rich source material, there is a sentiment that the newer adaptations, including Feluda, may not fully capture the greatness of the original works. The film, however, remains an engaging exploration into Shonku's world, offering a blend of curiosity and critique.
It's disheartening that the director, despite the treasure trove of his father's work, continues to helm projects and, according to some viewers, falls short of doing justice to the legacy. There's a sentiment that entrusting the work to someone else might have preserved the essence better, as repeated attempts are perceived as potential spoilers rather than enhancements to the beloved Professor Shonku series.
The Continental (2023)
A Mixed Bag of Action with a Forced John Wick Vibe
"The Continental" serves up a familiar dose of action but falls short of delivering a truly captivating experience. The action sequences are competent but lack the finesse and creativity that we've come to expect from the John Wick universe. The film occasionally sprinkles in catchphrases like "continental guns," but these moments feel forced and fail to add much depth to the plot.
One redeeming factor is the undeniable John Wick vibe that permeates the series. For fans of the franchise, this connection is likely the primary draw. However, "The Continental" struggles to establish its own identity and relies heavily on its predecessor's success.
In the end, "The Continental" offers a mix of blunt and regular action, with a few sparks of excitement, but it fails to stand out as a memorable addition to the John Wick universe. If you're a die-hard fan, it might be worth a watch, but don't expect it to reach the same heights as its predecessor.
The Fall of the House of Usher (2023)
A Hauntingly Brilliant Adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's Masterpiece
The Fall of the House of Usher" is a mesmerizing journey into the eerie and enigmatic world of Edgar Allan Poe. This brilliantly crafted series explores the Usher universe, seamlessly intertwining the essence of Poe's works with a unique and captivating twist.
What truly sets this adaptation apart is the meticulous construction of each episode's storyline. As the series progresses, it masterfully weaves together a tapestry of tales, each more haunting and intricate than the last. The attention to detail and storytelling finesse are nothing short of remarkable.
The series doesn't merely pay homage to Poe's legacy; it boldly reimagines it, breathing new life into classic tales. The result is a cinematic masterpiece that beautifully captures the essence of darkness, despair, and the macabre, while introducing fresh and intriguing elements.
If you're a fan of Edgar Allan Poe's works or simply appreciate finely crafted storytelling, "The Fall of the House of Usher" is a must-watch. It's a haunting, brilliant, and thought-provoking journey through the minds of both Poe and the creators behind this exceptional adaptation.
Wilderness (2023)
A Riveting Journey of Love, anger and human nature
Wilderness, takes you on a captivating ride through the heart of nature's enigmatic beauty. Jenna Coleman's performance is nothing short of splendid, adding depth and emotion to her character that lingers in your memory long after the credits roll.
The storyline, though seemingly simple on the surface, weaves a web of intrigue that keeps you tethered to the screen. As the plot unfolds, you'll find yourself questioning the boundaries of reality and imagination. It's a testament to the film's brilliance that you're drawn deeper into the story, even when it seems like a stretch.
The length of the film, which some might consider a drawback, is actually a masterstroke. It allows the story to develop organically, gradually descending into madness in a way that feels both real and unnerving. Wilderness invites you to embrace the chaos, and in doing so, it becomes an unforgettable cinematic experience.
In summary, Wilderness (2023) is a must-see for anyone who appreciates a thought-provoking journey into the unknown. With Jenna Coleman's stellar performance and a story that challenges your perceptions, this film deserves every bit of its 9/10 rating.
Prepare to be enthralled and, just maybe, a little disturbed.
Tintorettor Jishu (2008)
Fathers Legacy, Sons Annihilation
Sandip Ray, Once Again,
Ruined the essence of the whole story! One of the finest work of Sr. Ray and one of the top Fan Favorite. But poor executing, and changes in the stories has killed it!
Insane potential, and would love to see one remake by some good or top of its class director. This story gave chills to all the Bengali readers due to the adventurous and the changes of twists in the story there is.
No question on execution by the characters, but the major issues came from the execution of the whole story. To some extend it did just portray the cost cutting scenes, where it needed a correct set.
Disappointment!
Kalank (2019)
What was that? Great Disappointment
If this was made for a showdown of stage creativity and art, I would say okayish! But still who has got fountain in their living room being a dance teacher.
Now let me justify the score I have rated with, 1!
Why does Varun Dawan even act! What was that. A pathetic character, and acted in pathetic way as well.
The story was not of love properly, not of war, not even of vengeance! It was full of time wasting material. Although the screentime was toally on Alia Bhat, she did act well, along with good performance from Aditya and Sanjay Dutt. But overall the story made zero sense to me! In what world such story takes place and told in a mediocre way.
The writer and the director needed to spend more time to make it more realistic rather than just wasting the budgets in set designs and useless characters.
The King's Man (2021)
The Great Disappointment
Really was looking forward to this movie, I will keep things short. This is about such conspiracy theory that gave comic touch to the seriousness of it's plot. I would have loved it if it were not this complex and was a movie that was from comedy genre. For the King's Man franchise, I am totally disappointed.
The Godfather (1972)
Words are not enough !!
everyone knows its one of the best movie. but you don't know is this is the movie that comes once in the history... its made me think like i am the godfather. i am the MOB !! you can not say if the actors are acting... its real..
missing this art, should be considered as a self-disgrace. i don't know what the associates got into them, and if that is normal or spiritual (if there is) but surely it is something that can not me done again.. thanks to everyone to giving one audience this much of peace and something beyond words ..
