Spin City (1996)
It's Been Said Before, Locklear Ruined This
Charlie Sheen got a ton of blame for ruining this show, but Heather Locklear killed it before him. This show was hilarious because all of the side characters contributed just as much as the main one (Michael J. Fox). They were all funny and their different personalities complemented each other nicely. With that said, Locklear came on the show and just took away so much screen time from everyone else, that it became more of a show about her and Mike. Once Fox left because of illness, Sheen completely killed the show. He's a terrible actor that is around because of his last name. They also got rid of characters like James and Nikki, which eliminated many of the funny things going on with the show.
Basically, this was a wonderful show in its first 4 seasons. Then it became watchable, but not nearly as funny. Finally, it was just plain awful.
Yes, Dear (2000)
A Time Slot Hit
I never watched this show, but I knew that it used to be on between "King of Queens" and "Everybody Loves Raymond." Now that they show the reruns on TBS, I've managed to catch many episodes and come to this conclusion: it's not a funny show. The jokes probably could have been funny, but they are often so obvious and they are delivered so terribly that I kind of just acknowledge the humor, but never laugh at it. The actor who plays Greg is one of the least funny people on TV and the actor that plays Jimmy has some potential, but his delivery is plain awful, just like the rest of the people on this show.
Obviously, this show managed to stay on for a while when it was between two big hits. However, as soon as "Raymond" left, this show sputtered. It just isn't that funny.
Signs (2002)
I shouldn't have seen it a second time.
Some spoilers.
I loved this movie the first time I saw it. I was so into the aliens that I didn't notice how stupid the ending was. Wasn't it a little far-fetched for that alien who got his hand cut up by Mel Gibson to come back for revenge on the family? That totally made me rethink how good of a movie it was. Also, the movie is similar to M. Night's previous two because it is very slow moving and takes a while to develop. It also cannot be ignored that water plays a big role in this movie, much like that of Unbreakable.
The more I see of this movie, the more I realize how stupid it was. It can be enjoyable because there are laughs and there are some scary scenes. Overall I would give it a 3/5.
