Nice

It's a nice family movie for families who look for a movie without profane language. Avarage plot, acting and shooting. Its worth seeing it. Some part of it is a little exaggerated but acceptible.

It's a shame.

It's a shame to see such a disgraceful series like this one. The whole story is a cheap same old story; haves against havent. I feel pity for the artists. You might consider that Turks are rich people by watching the series but actually it is exact opposite.

"Haneke" influenced disturbing film with an unnecessary "moral final"
5 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie in Balçova, Izmir in a theater with a very bad sound and screen quality! So, i highly recommend you to watch this movie in a better theater! While watching the movie, i realized that 7 or 8 couples left the cinema because of its irritating violent scenes which reminded me Haneke's "Funny Games" but Barda is really bloody and realistic. As far as i know, this is one of the most hardest Turkish film with its hardcore torture scenes and vulgar, parental advisory language . So, that's the first reason for you to watch this movie. But, what disappoints me is its very poor final. Because it was completely unnecessary to give people "moral lessons or any misleading thoughts" by making the tortures killed in jail. If the director would have finalized the film without showing us the revenge, this could have been one of the "cult" movie ever made!!! When the torturers were killed in the jail (by zeki demirkubuz..etc), some people in the theater applauded as a reaction of convenience. That was because of moral catharsis that the director made his fatal error by finalizing the film like this. But it is still very promising and unforgettable movie that should be really seen by any cinema lovers! But, don't go with your sweetheart!!!!!

Have you ever dreamed that your dream is a dream in your dream?
7 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Have you ever dreamed that your dream is a dream in your dream? For this, just check this film out which is a masterpiece.. This is what a movie must be and ART. He successfully combines the inner self with harsh, wild outer world which is full of wars like in Spain. I will always remember its slow pacing which i never wanted to end. Heart-breaking, dreamy scenes are gorgeously planned and acted. A must-see. Lots of scenes are like a photographic work of art from the eye of Tarkovsky. It explains why Tarkovsky affected many directors in their works. Only the details used by the director makes the movie worth to see.

"love or struggle"
20 March 2006
This movie is an adaption of famous Kirghiz writer Cengiz Aytmatov's novel. The unforgettable moment in the movie is a dialogue: "What is love? Love is struggle, love is goodness, love is amity". The main theme in the movie is "love needs struggle". It is a turning point in Turkish cinema and a sheer gem confirmed by many rewards at home and abroad; second best movie in 15th. Antalya Altin Portakal Film Festival, Best Director, Tashkent Film Festival best actress (Turkan Soray). The Soundtrack of the movie is praised as the best soundtrack in Turkey. It was composed by "Cahit Berkay" from the band Mogollar. Especially, the song "selvi boylum al yazmalim" is still unforgettable and considered as one of the most contemporary folk song in Turkey. In order to understand Turkish culture, humanity, sensitiveness and rural life style, "selvi boylum al yazmalim" is the best movie to give a chance. It is an universal epic and the question of "love" through Anotolian point of view...
