- TriviaPhilip has appeared in a number of theater productions, mostly for musicals. His Broadway debut as a lead was in the 1988 musical "Chess". Although the music was written by ABBA's Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus with lyrics by Ulvaeus and Tim Rice, the show only ran for 68 performances. Philip received the Theater World Award for Best Actor in a Debut Performance. The cast album was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Musical Cast Show Album, losing to "Into the Woods".
