- Annie Saumont was born on March 16, 1927 in Cherbourg, Manche, France. She was a writer, known for Toute une histoire (2003), La gifle du mardi (1990) and Vol de nuit (1999). She died on January 31, 2017 in Paris, France.
- Writer, she won in 1981 the Goncourt prize de la nouvelle (short story) .She was also a translator of John Fowles and in 1986 she published a new translation of J.D. Salinger's The Catcher In the Rye.
