- Other worksThe fundraiser, "Appeal II: For Continued Freedom in the Arts", was raised at a rented auditorium in Geary near Fillmore in San Francisco, California with Jefferson Airplane (Marty Balin, Paul Kantner, Spencer Dryden, Jack Casady, Grace Slick, Jorma Kaukonen, Skip Spence, Joey Covington); The Great Society; Big Brother and the Holding Company (Peter Albin, Janis Joplin, James Gurley, Sam Andrew, David Getz, Ben Nieves, Cathy Richardson, Chuck Jones, Nick Gravenites, Kathi McDonald, Dave Shallock, Mike Finnegan and Tom Finch); Quicksilver Messenger Service; The Charlatans; John Handy Quintet; Mystery Trend; Gentlemen's Band and the Grateful Dead (formerly the Warlocks) using their new name for the first time. Wes Wilson was the poster designer. R. G. Davis was artistic director.
- TriviaBlues and backup singer who began in 1964 as lead singer for a Bellingham, Washington rock and roll band called the Unusuals. She became lead singer for Big Brother and the Holding Company after Janis Joplin left, was briefly an Ikette in the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, sang for over three decades with Long John Baldry, and sang backup for Elton John, Leon Russell and Joe Cocker.
