- Paul Anderson was born on October 17, 1932 in Toccoa, Georgia, USA. He was an actor, known for Once Upon a Horse... (1958), Out There (1951) and Kraft Theatre (1947). He was married to Glenda Garland. He died on August 15, 1994 in Vidalia, Georgia, USA.

- Won the 1956 Olympic Gold Medal for weightlifting in the heavyweight division.

- Following his successes and fame in Weightlifting, Paul sought to earn his fortune in Boxing, Professional Wrestling and, finally, with a Las Vegas based Strongman Act. His seeking great wealth was motivated by his desire to create his home for orphaned and delinquent in Vidalia, Georgia; which he did in 1961.
- In 1961 Mr. Anderson founded The Paul Anderson Youth Home, a Christian Faith based private institution serving orphaned and delinquent children. Located in Vidalia, Georgia, the home is still in operation today.
- Began his Athletic career as a Football Player. He showed promise as a Blocking Back/Fullback while attending Furman University in Grreenville, South Carolina; a sport he soon abandoned in order to devote full time to Competitive Olympic Style Weightlifting.
