There are few shows that push the boundaries of good taste quite like "It's Sunny in Philadelphia." The long-running FX comedy series has had a relative lack of backlash over the years despite joking about controversial topics in every single episode, but it has come up against some issues with censorship over the years. Sometimes, this happened after the fact, like when five episodes were removed from most streaming services for racially insensitive content in the wake of the George Floyd protests, and sometimes it came at the hands of either network brass or basic network standards. While it's understandable that there might be some pushback for some of the show's wilder ideas, all the way back in season 1 the series' creatives really had to fight even to include a controversial word on the show. This word is not a slur, a swear, or offensive in any way outside of people's feelings around the issue,...

No one on the planet could ever accuse "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" of being too politically correct, but when the series first debuted, the cast was worried that they hadn't at least offended someone.
The hit FX series, which has run for a record-breaking 16 seasons, has somehow managed to walk the fine line between being utterly offensive and totally hilarious, at least most of the time. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter back in 2013, the cast and creators revealed that they were initially concerned at the lack of backlash to their series because they worried it meant no one could possibly be watching. After all, the first season featured episodes where characters faked cancer, tried to pick up women at an abortion rally, sold alcohol to minors as a business tactic, and more! The series has always been envelope-pushing in its comedy and really hasn't let up in all of the years since,...

The gang on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are a pretty tight-knit group with a long, complicated family history. At some point or another, most of the gang have claimed Frank (Danny DeVito) as their father, and Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Dennis (Glenn Howerton) as twins. The cast have their own family connections too, as Olson is married to series creator and the man who plays Mac, Rob McElhenney, and the other guys have each had their spouses on the show! Charlie Day, who plays Charlie, is married to The Waitress (Mary Elizabeth Ellis), while Howerton's wife Jill Latiano made an appearance in season 5 and DeVito's wife Rhea Pearlman finally had a cameo in season 16. It's truly a family affair on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and in the latest season, another member of the extended "Sunny" family made his first appearance.

Ready for a mind-bending time warp? We’re now more removed from That ‘70s Show’s series premiere than viewers were removed from that first episode’s 1976 timeframe when the Fox sitcom debuted on August 23, 1998, 25 years ago now. In that first episode, Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty Forman (Debra Jo Rupp) give son Eric (Topher Grace) the keys to their Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. Eric uses those wheels to go to a concert with his friends Donna (Laura Prepon), Hyde (Danny Masterson), and Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), plus foreign exchange student Fez (Wilmer Valderrama)… with Kelso bringing girlfriend Jackie (Mila Kunis) along, much to the others’ dismay. That seminal episode, however, isn’t among fans’ very favorites. According to IMDb voters, below are the best installments from That ‘70s Show’s eight-season run. 10. Season 4, Episode 14: “Eric’s Hot Cousin” The guys of the group are gobsmacked by how Eric’s cousin...

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has more than a decade and a half of ongoing bits to draw from, but one has been headed towards its logical (and potentially magical) conclusion for a while now: Mac's (Rob McElhenney) absolutely ridiculous lack of a love life. He tried to date women and hide his sexuality for years before finally coming out of the closet as a gay man for good in the season 12 episode "Hero or Hate Crime?," and this year, he's been promised a boyfriend! There haven't been many long-term romantic relationships on the series, so there's no telling if Mac's boyfriend will last, but it's exciting nonetheless.
In the official season synopsis on the FX website, season 16 apparently has Mac battling "with allergies and long-distance dating," which creates more questions than it answers. Who is he dating? How did they meet? When did Mac get allergies? Isn't that a Dennis thing?...

In a first trailer for “The Game” Season 2, shared exclusively with TheWrap, players on and off the field are tested by the pro football league’s unionization efforts, which leads to confrontation, betrayals and, of course, power plays. The sophomore season of the Paramount+ revival series will premiere with two episodes on Dec. 15.
“The Game” stars Wendy Raquel Robinson, Hosea Chanchez, Adriyan Rae, Vaughn Hebron, Analisa Velez and Toby Sandeman. Per the sports drama’s logline, it offers a “modern-day examination of Black culture through the prism of professional football. The beloved characters tackle racism, sexism, classism and more as they fight for fame, fortune, respect and love — all while trying to maintain their souls as they each play ‘The Game.'” In Season 2, the drama and laughs double as the core group fights to survive the storms of change.

Exclusive: Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who turned the Gossip Girl YA books into a hit series for the CW (and now HBO Max), are bringing another popular YA book series to the screen at the broadcast network. The CW is developing Sweet Valley, a TV series based on the Sweet Valley High books by Francine Pascal. The bestselling novels were previously adapted into the 1994 series Sweet Valley High, which aired in syndication before moving to one of the CW’s predecessors, Upn, for its fourth and final season.
The latest project is a co-production between new ViacomCBS corporate siblings CBS Studios and Paramount TV Studios in what is believed to be the first time the Paramount vault has been mined by the CW.

When a new season of The Game arrives on Paramount+, it'll do so with much of the original cast intact. The show, which premiered in 2006 on The CW, moved to BET in 2011 before getting canceled in 2015. The streaming era gave way to Paramount+ green-lighting a 10th season that'll serve as a reboot of sorts, but there will be some very noticeable differences. When The Game debuted, it starred Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall. However, the two left the show after season five, only making a brief reappearance in the last season. When the show picks back up on Paramount+ on Nov. 11, Hall will be back, but Mowry won't.
In The Game, Mowry played Melanie Barnett, a medical student who gave up her chance to attend Johns Hopkins to instead follow her football-playing boyfriend, Derwin, played by Hall, to San Diego. Her character was central to the plot, so much so...

The respective Cheaper by the Dozen and Ray Donovan stars will be joined by Adriyan Rae (Chicago Fire), Vaughn Hebron (The Oval) and Analisa Velez (Sneaky Pete) as new cast in the ten-part series.
Pitts was an integral part of the first three seasons of the show, as wife of Jason Pitts, mother of Brittany Pitts and President of the Sunbeams. CBS All Access is trading in CBS for Paramount. ViacomCBS revealed Tuesday that the rebranded streaming service will be called Paramount+ beginning early next year.
The rebranding is the second, and much bigger, phase of the two-phase expansion of CBS All Access, which first launched in 2014 and was among the earliest entrants in the streaming space. In July, All Access added more than 3,500 episodes from Viacom networks BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and Smithsonian Channel, along with a smaller redesign that incorporates hubs for the Viacom networks.
ViacomCBS did not reveal any new pricing for the newly-named Paramount+, though executives had previously told TheWrap they were not planning on changing the price. Currently, All Access charges $5.99 a month for limited commercials and $9.99 for an ad-free version.
Paramount+ will also heavily increase upon CBS All Access’ original series output, which included five new orders on Tuesday, highlighted by a revival of...

The Game is poised to make another return from the dead.
Deadline is reporting that the football-themed series is getting the revival treatment at The CW.
The Game initially aired on the young-skewing network for three seasons before being canceled in 2009.
Bet later swopped in to revive the series, and it blossomed into one of the most-watched shows on cable.
It aired on Bet from 2011-15, ultimately concluding after its ninth season.
Given that the CW does not currently air half-hour comedies, this new iteration of the series would take the form of a one-hour dramedy.
Even more promising is that original creator, Mara Brock Akil is returning to write the series, with Devon Greggory (Underground) attached to severe as showrunner.
If the series garners a CW order, it would be set in Baltimore, as opposed to the original's San Diego, but that does not mean original stars will not return.
