Part of the notorious May 1957 Copacabana nightclub incident in which he, Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle, Billy Martin, Hank Bauer, and Whitey Ford got into a scuffle with members of a bowling team. Bauer was accused of hitting one of the bowlers, but was cleared. The players were fined, and the Yankees traded Martin to Kansas City.
