- Pierre Lacotte was born on April 4, 1932 in Chatou, Yvelines, France. He was an actor and writer, known for Gosse de Paris (1961), Marco Spada (2014) and La sylphide (2004). He was married to Ghislaine Thesmar. He died on April 10, 2023 in La Seyne-sur-Mer, Var, France.

- Ballet choreographer who helped Rudolf Nureyev defect from the Soviet Union. With Lacotte's guidance, Nureyev escaped KGB agents in Paris and sought asylum at Le Bourget airport in 1961.
- In 1979, Lacotte worked as a guest artist in Russia, bringing La Sylphide to the Novosibirsk Ballet, and Le Papillon, La Vivandière, and "La Cachucha" from Le Diable boiteux to Kirov Ballet.
