This was Richard Harris's best work until just before his death. His last films were very good. But I stray. Harris stars as a rich man who is captured by Indians. At first, he is mistreated and looked down upon by them. As he learns about them, he comes to realize that their culture is preferable to him to the one he was born into. As he comes to respect them, they eventually begin to return the respect. He eventually goes through the Indian manhood ritual and becomes one of the tribe. I believe this film was the basis for Kevin Costner's "Dances with Wolves". A Man Called Horse is a true classic film and is just outstanding in nearly every way.
