A lot of the humor in this movie might be "inside" Hollywood stuff, I grant you. Nevertheless, THE MUSE is one of the most gratifying experiences I've had at a theater this year. After seeing any number of brainless comedies, it's so satisfying to see one with some intelligence behind it. And I have to think that any country with "Entertainment Tonight" as a top-rated show can't be media-savvy enough to enjoy the in-jokes in this wonderful, delightful film.
