Latter Days (2003)

A sweet, honest and meaningful film
13 April 2004
I have little patience for bad scripts, sloppy cinematography, bad acting or inadequate editing so I was pleasantly surprised when this movie won me over again and again. The film sometimes suffered from an improbable or overwrought script, sometimes from so-so acting and sometimes from indulgent editing but by far the most persistent impression is one of an honest and meaningful film. I can't adequately express how impressed I was with the acting of Steve Sandvoss. His performance was vulnerable, brave and very true. I found myself tearing up not only because of the plight of the characters but also because of how validated Steve Sandvoss made me feel. I left the theater feeling warm and a bit more alive. See it and I think you will too.
