Adam's Rib (1949)
7/10
Women's Lib.
15 April 2005
Similar to Woman of the Year, Adam's Rib has the conclusion that no man is complete without a woman and that no woman, even if you are a woman like Hepburn, is complete without a man like Spencer Tracy. Even for 1949, having a comedy take place in the courtroom is dangerous. The issue of murder, let alone attempted murder is too risky even for 1949. At times, Adam's Rib is like Madonna's Body of Evidence. Both characters are dead without one another. Each use each other to get what they want. Although both movies ens differently, they are the same in many ways. The ending is in some ways funny but not realistic. Then again, for 1949 this is suitable enough for the audience to believe it. A typical Hepburn / Tracy comedy.
