Maybe I missed this, but what was the beef between Billy Bob Thornton's character and Snake? Are we supposed to guess about an integral part of the story? It seems this was an important part of the story that was either left out, or I missed it. Also, are we supposed to believe there is this famous place to eat catfish, etc, and Billy Bob Thornton was the only one who knew about it, even though all of the other characters were locals? I thought the fight scene was corny with the karate style of bitch slapping that Billy Bob displayed, only to reach corn pone status with the "I've shown you I could whip your butt, so now beat me up because I deserve it" routine.
Even with the flaws this is better than most of the special effects/no story combination the theatres are full of.
