Very well done show on this wonderful musical production of Americana! This program gives a basic history of the Showboats and the Kern Showboat production. Has authentic photos of real Showboats and clips from both the 1929 and 1936 movies. Goes into the original lyrics of the opening night. This recording has some of the unedited lyrics from the original Kern lyrics. Some of these lyrics have not been used since the opening night in the 1920's! A wonderful show and a wonderful production. The singers are excellent. Very well done! The passion for Showboat is felt! Will make you want to go right out and purchase this 3 disc set!
