At least I liked it a lot. I haven't seen 'Get Shorty' so I didn't see this as an extension of it and neither as a cash-in, parody or anything else. What it has is stars doing surprisingly good roles, Travolta is underplayed cool like he has never been before, Harvey Keitel is the boss of a record company, Andre 3000 is in Cedrics gang of thugs/rich gangsta rappers, Steven Tyler makes an appearance, but doesn't look too good.
Together with Travolta, the best performance comes from elsewhere anonymous, but here outdoing Ali G, Vince Vaughn as the wannabe gangsterrap producer with his homo bodyguard The Rock. Don't listen to those who diss it, they don't know. Also it is not just a showcase for Christina Milan. Her role is perfectly natural in the movie and she does it good.
