A Waste of Talent And Time

Warning: Spoilers
"Dynasty: The Reunion" should have left fans of the 1981-89 series jumping for joy. Instead, it left viewers demanding their 4 hours back instead.

For those who weren't familiar with what happened in the last episode of the series, a quick run-down: Krystle (Linda Evans)was in a clinic in a coma (She had actually left the series before it was canceled),Blake (John Forsythe)is bleeding from a gunshot wound delivered by a crooked cop, and Alexis (Joan Collins)is taking a tumble off the balcony of a hotel with her ex-husband Dex.

So as the series picks up, Blake has been in prison for a while for what happened with the cop. And as any fan of the series knows, he's concerned about 3 things: his wife, his family and his company. Alexis is still alive and kicking (Unfortunately, she used Dex as a cushion to her fall, which he doesn't survive)and Krystle has emerged out of her coma. But there is something going on with this picture.

A mysterious organization known as The Consortium, lead by Jeremy Van Dorn (Jeroen Krabbe) has managed to take over Blake's company. They also want to see Blake dead, using every means necessary to complete their plans, including brainwashing Krystle.

There are many reasons why the 2 part movie was so incredibly bad: 1)Too many loose ends: What happened to Blake's sister and other daughter? Sure, their character's left the series, but you would think that close family members would keep in touch in some way. And WHY is Kirby (Kathleen Beller)in the picture? Considering that her brother tried to kill Alexis during the series, and that she was drove off by Alexis herself, why should she even be in the mix? And why would Fallon (Emma Samms)divorce her husband Jeff (John James)to be with Myles (Maxwell Caulfield)? And why is Sammy Jo (Heather Locklear)given little to do?

2)The new "Adam:" Not to knock Robin Sachs, but Gordon Thomson will always be Adam Carrington. Sachs' portrayal of Adam is incredibly dull.

The cat fight between Krystle and Alexis is tired, and the ending will leave you scratching your head.

This will leave a very bad taste in your mouth. It will disappoint the die-hard fans of the series, and bore those who've never watched the series at all.
