Theresa is a beautiful black girl, who wants to introduce her fiancé Simon Green(Ashton Kutcher) to her family. The problem is that she forgot to say that Simon is white,since for her this is not really an important thing.(And actually is not) But her father(Bernie Mac), who is a paranoiac guy(and sick at the point to forbidden Theresa and her boyfriend to sleep together, since he is sleeping at the same mattress as Simon!) decides that the boy is not a good catch for Theresa, specially because he is not black.
