The Basement (II) (2005)
8/10
Scary, thought-provoking drama, watched at the Channel 4 cinema, July 2006.

Four office workers are trapped indefinitely in a small room in the basement of a burning building. Unfortuanately, although originally following the fire-escape route out, due to the flames and smoke they have no choice but to keep going down the stairs, eventually finding a room away from the flames and smoke. Two females and two males are very stressed and confrontational with each other, one gets the feeling that there had been major personality clashes in the office and the tensions come to a head in the room. Eventually they all calm down a bit and start acting ad-lib making up their own conversations. Very tense, excellent acting, especially good regardless of the lack of scenery in the film. I am very proud of my sister Emma, Steve & Johnson who produced and directed it. I hope they will be able to make more soon.
