2/10
Worst Scottish Accent Ever
8 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This movie covers a very important topic in Scotland. Sectarianism. However, the movie is ruined, and has become the butt of many jokes because of the atrocious attempt at a Scottish accent by Robert Duvall. His accent varies between Welsh, Irish, Australian and New York without ever coming close to Scotland. Even James Doohan was better than this. Duvall aside the movie is OK. Ally McCoist is remarkably good in his acting debut and Kirsty Mitchell is excellent. Viewers not familiar with the traditions of Scotland's "Old Firm" may find the idea that a Father would disown his daughter because she married a catholic unrealistic and far fetched but this is not the case. This movie could have been an important message about the cancer that affects Scottish Football if it had not had Robert Duvall turning it into an unintentional comedy.
