This show appeals to the 14-15 year old. The dialog is not to corny, unlike the Lizzie Mcguire show(2001-2003), And I do agree it is pretty much Even Stevens meets The Brady Bunch. The parents are portrayed has being clueless, but You gotta remember this is a teenage show, and this is how some teenagers would see there parents. The main focus are Casey(Ashley Leggat) who is nice for the most part, but the other times she acts like a drama queen, and thinks the world evolves around her. And then there is Derek(Michael Seater) who acts like he could be the long lost son of bad boy John Bender from The Breakfast Club(1985). You love moments when they fight and when they team up, cause Ashley and Michael have incredible chemistry. Ashley Leggat keeps teenage boys watching, she is just so enchanting, and Michael Seater I'll bet keeps the girls watching cause they love a wild one.
