As some posters tell the story is cliché, the characters are stereotypes, the story is predictable etc.
But, it's a really funny kid's film. Mine (8 and 11 years old) loved it. The foreign scenery, the French feeling of the figures, the sound and songs, the clumsy but lovely nanny, everything was fine for them. And for me.
They laughed about her ride on a donkey, the repeating appearance of the driver, the stupid crooks. They felt with the little girl.
I believe you have to see the film like a kid does, staying in present time. Don't think about the future, the next scene, just enjoy.
