The Brave One (2007)
5/10
Charles Bronson's sensitive side

Warning: Spoilers
It was OK. I had no problem with the fact that the vigilante was a woman this time around. I guess I started to get a little bored with the whole emotional study of how all of those shootings were affecting her. Right from the outset, you understand why she would go and cap off hoodlums, so from my perspective, I didn't need to see the deep inner emotional analysis. She was feeling pretty much what anyone else would probably feel given the same situation.

I guess I was expecting a pure mindless action movie like the earlier Bronson flicks and got this emotional angst-fest instead. With all due respect, Jodi Foster did a good job of acting. I just thought the movie was a little too much of a drama party. I liked the earlier Bronson movies where you just got to drink in the satisfaction you felt when he greased another dirt bag, and secretly hoped he could keep doing it until all of the scum of the earth were gone. This just went off in a direction that was a little boring to me.
