6/10
would have been a great series

Warning: Spoilers
Fred Zinneman's talent could not be hidden. In just a couple of films he went from "The Lady or the Tiger" (1942), A MGM Miniature short to "Eyes in the Night", a very interesting spy who-done-it.

Edward Arnold plays Duncan Maclain, a blind sleuth, who is originally asked for advice from Norma Lawry (Ann Harding, looking quite radiant)concerning her step daughter's (Donna Reed) infatuation with an ageing actor.

After reading other comments, I'm disappointed that it wasn't developed into a series. It would have given Edward Arnold's career a real boost. There were plenty of detective series in the 40s but this was high on originality and novelty.

Friday should rate special mention as well. There was nothing this dog couldn't do - even turning door knobs with his mouth. I bet his trainers were annoyed there was to be no series.
