I liked this. I've only seen the 1st two episodes. It was funny. Now I will admit that the first two episodes do mirror the movie. But I expected them to do this. I would have been disappointed if they hadn't.
I felt that most of the voice acting was good. Some of it was a little stiff. But in a new series you almost always will experience this. Now of course only a few of the actors from the movie did the voice-overs for their characters. This is understandable, some actors are not good at animation, and sadly some of the actors had died since the original movie had been made, so it would have been creepy if they had used their voices.
This is not for children, of course neither was the original movie. If you liked the movie and if you like spotting jokes in images, you'll like the animated series.
