Al returns a library book!
28 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
It's hard to imagine a library book that was due back in 1957. Al recalls the incident with the librarian, Mrs. De Groot, who hated Al then and now. As Al is forced to return to the library to return the book, he is faced with the older Mrs. De Groot who has stayed and waited for his return. What Al doesn't know is that he's videotaped putting back the book on the shelf by tripping Mrs. De Groot. "Don't Bundy that book" becomes a motto for treating books with care and attention. Mrs. De Groot had never high expectations of Al's life. When the videotape airs on local television, he humiliates himself and his family while facing a huge fine for his overdue book.
