Not "Heavy," but Lot's of Fun
24 January 2010
Good gravy. What's =not= to like about a Ringo review show in the last 15 years? These are some the best musicians of the '70s and '80s here, friends. MTv heart throb Richard "Right Here Waiting" Marx, Prince collaborator and hit maker in her own right Sheila "The Glamorous Life" Escovedo, ex-Zombie Rod "Hold Your Head Up" Argent, Led Zep "extention" Billy "Everybody Wants You" Squier, Edgar "Frankenstein" Winter, the Average White and Paul McCartney band's Hamish Stuart.

Ringo's shows were always nostalgic romps with a dose of his own self-effacing humor, and that's what this 2006 tour film is. No, it's not "The Song Remains the Same" or "The Stones at the Max," and it's certainly not "The Last Waltz" or "The Delicate Sound of Thunder," but for those who like their music a little less dramatic and more fun, this is worth a rental, for sure.
