Post Grad (2009)

Predictable and it's been done before, but I enjoyed it!

Post Grad is a movie that really isn't all that original, the subject material has been done before, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's cute script and charming cast make it rise above the simple material it has. Alexis Bledel's charisma can catapult her into stardom, and I feel this little Indy project is only the starting point for it. Personally I felt the growing up story for her character was very cute, i especially found her character and Adam's storyline to be quite adorable as well. It's short on laughs to be honest, but I did find a lot of amusement due to Bledel's quirky family, Keaton and Jane Lynch are especially fun as the parents and provide great support to Bledel. It also has a simple, but good message in it as well. My favorite scene had to be where Bobby Coleman|Hunter| is driving a cart in a race and loses control and goes all the way into the lake.

Performances. Alexis Bledel is very charming and cute. She carries the movie with ease here, and with an even better script I see her going far. Zach Gilford is likable as the love interest of Bledel's, he was refreshing and honest. Michael Keaton can play any part and do it well, but he plays the quirky Father excellently. Jane Lynch is funny and witty as The Mom. Bobby Coleman is a bit of an odd-duck as Hunter, but he wasn't bad for a Kid. Carol Burnett is hilarious as the Grandma, often stealing many scenes.

Bottom line. Thoroughly predictable, but I enjoyed it!. It's just a cute little movie to watch, to pass the time, it'll make you think too. Recommended.
