Leslie Nielsen's passing brought "The Creature Wasn't Nice" to my mind. This is one of his lesser known movies. Not quite the same kind of comedy as his most famous roles, but still entertaining enough. The alien's song-and-dance routine was certainly a surprise. Nielsen was no stranger to sci-fi: many years earlier he had starred in "Forbidden Planet". As it was, "Airplane!" was his very first comedy.
So, this is mostly cheap laughs. Good enough for the time that it runs. Also starring Patrick MacNee, Cindy Williams (of "American Graffiti") and Gerrit Graham (Beef in "The Phantom of the Paradise").
