CSI:Crime Scene Investigation-Felonious Monk
24 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Four monks are shot between the eyes with a gang symbol etched into the wall. Gum, a boot print, curry powder, paint from a paint ball gun, and a truck license plate photographed from a satellite could lead the CSI team to the one responsible. Catherine reopens the case of her striptease dancing friend just to tie up loose ends which might just involve her mentor. Blood on the murder weapon and gloves, the lack of photographic evidence, Catherine is tormented by the fact that the one who was a reason she was able to leave club dancing behind for a career in forensic pathology could have planted evidence that wrongfully convicted a man. This episode introduces us to a person from Catherine's past and how her work as a criminalist exposes the very one who helped her chart a successful career path. We see that Robert David Hall's chief medical examiner studied the Buddhist philosophy of the chakrahs and how the killer understood this which is why he chose to shoot the monks between the eyes. Pretty horrific crime in an episode which delves into Buddhism casting a positive light on the religion. This one has Bruce McGill(NATIONAL LAMPOON'S ANIMAL HOUSE)as Cat's mentor, Jimmy Tadero, Marshall Bell(A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET II) as the racist, Peter Hutchins Sr., Aaron Paul as his son, Peter Jr., and Mark Dascascos as the only Buddhist monk to survive from his temple.
