This short cartoon was also released as part of the full-length film "Make Mine Music"--a movie that consisted of lots of singing Disney shorts all strung together. While "The Whale Who Wanted To Sing At The Met" was not one of the bad shorts from this movie, it also was not even close to being one of my favorites. And, I am sure the reaction of many will vary wildly. If your idea of fun is hearing Nelson Eddy sing opera, then are you in for a treat. If you'd rather hear a cat being tortured, then it will be VERY tough going. In particular, kids will have a hard time with this one.
