Review of The Other Man

Liam Neeson was wonderful in this movie; as always. Laura Linney was too. Antonio Banderas was also. I can't believe they were able to get 3 wonderful actors to make one of the worse movies I've ever seen. It sets out to be clever, with a little mystery and suspense; but just leaves you with a lot of questions. The biggest question will be "why did I waste my time on this p.o.s.!" First, I don't know anyone that doesn't have a password on their cellphone. Everyone I know has to know the password before they can get their messages. How was Liam and the daughter both able to pick up her cellphone and listen to the message? Was the Lake Como message he found in the shoe, a place she would have liked to go with her husband? If so, why did she put it in the shoe that Antonio Banderas loved? Is it the password to the folder, love, on her computer? If so, why didn't she just write a letter explaining all the questions she would have known her husband would have when he discovered that she had an affair during their marriage and saw photos that would devastate him? Why would someone who was married and loved someone for 25 years want to devastate him in this way? To make him hate her and move on with his life? That's ridiculous, if that's what it was supposed to be. Why would a man or woman after being devastated by the death of their spouse and finding out he/she was having an affair, want to immediately kill the person they were having an affair with? Why would they jump on a plane, find that person, stalk them, ingratiate themselves into that person's life and want to know all the details about the affair? Why would the spouse foot the bill for their spouse's lover to meet her, and show up to inform them that she/he had died? And why was the lover at the dinner honoring the wife? A lot of confusion...and not worth wasting your time over; believe me.
