Inside Job (2010)

True life can be more dramatic than fiction!
22 March 2011
A film that is heart-wrenching, anger-inducing and provides more shock value than a horror film. It might not be all new material, but it certainly does an excellent job of providing an understandable narrative and explaining the collapse step-by-step.

I loved that this movie made it simple to understand the financial machinations that like to hide behind the "very complex" moniker. It's not so hard to understand at all... which means it's quite clear those running the scams are desperate to keep up the illusion of major complexity to avoid detection.

Most unfair of all is the lack of punishment for those who gained enormous wealth to the detriment of millions! They're still in power, still in businesses which they ran into the ground and they're still writing their own rules in the political system.

Yes, we need to make the point that declining to be interviewed for a film is not proof of somebody's guilt. It seemed too often the "declined to be interviewed" message was overly emphasized with ominous overtones. The facts speak loudly enough... no need to ruin it.

Also, I do wish there was a stronger call to action to finish the documentary. This material points out a system so corrupt, run by the most powerful and rich... so what can we as individuals do about it? With the exposure of an Academy Award for best documentary... let's just hope it prompts action for the change we so desperately need.
