A lot of fun for a student film
3 March 2012
A quite funny early student film by Andersson, with hints of his dark surreal humor to come in his much later work.

A truly awful set of parents come to visit their collage age son, and his girlfriend. The father picks on everything he can think of. There are some nice compositions that hint at Andersson's later work, although the camera moves a lot more, and in a more standard, familiar way. The acting is good too.

Very impressive for a student film, although of course it doesn't hold up next to Andersson's mature work. But I enjoyed it, and was glad I got to see it.

This is now available on the collection of Anderson's short films "5 X Andersson", which is a must for any fan.
