"Female-friendly"? Seriously?
14 July 2012
Warning: Spoilers
How exactly is this female-friendly? "Not as misogynistic as is commonly found" is not the same thing as "female-friendly". Yes, there's a plot, and the acting is... OK, considering. But it's still heavily penis-centric. There's tons of oral sex for the men, most showing the entire job until the man climaxes and often comes all over her face or chest. Yet there's very little oral sex for the women; when shown, it's overwhelmingly either only for a few seconds, while the woman being eaten out is blowing another actor, or because it's a girl-on-girl scene (but obviously, oral is only something ladies do to each other to help tide themselves over until they can get that sweet, sweet juicy cock again.) There is only a single scene in which a woman is pleasured by a man without simultaneously pleasuring another man, and the oral does not end in her climaxing, but in her blowing him before they have intercourse. Additionally, the women being eating out respond to it with very little enthusiasm or even apathy, while being screwed by a cock or even blowing a man will have her moaning and groaning.

There's some rape in it, and yes, that's rather historically accurate. But either label it so those who might be triggered can avoid it, or stop telling me it's somehow female-friendly.

"Female friendly" does not mean "has a plot". It means taking the desires and climaxes of women just as seriously as the desires and climaxes of men, including if those desires are to get eating out until they come or to have lesbian - not girl on girl, lesbian - sex.
