A feel good movie
28 September 2012
I think this movie deserves better exposure. It is a feel good movie - one that is bound to be of interest to an audience of all ages. The problems the family encounters both before their rise into the wealthy upper crust of South Australian society, as well as those which they face largely due to their inherited wealth makes for a truly moving tale. It's interesting how money so quickly seduces most of the family members and changes their personalities so dramatically. Perhaps it's a warning to all those hoping to win fame and fortune in all the various aspects of gambling be it in lotteries or on the racecourse. John Bach's acting was superb. I think he very realistically portrayed the attitude of men in the depression years.
