This short carried a rating of "M" for "Mature" on its release in 1968 ("R" eventually replaced "M") and it probably rated an "M" then, though now it's mild and cute. There will be mild spoilers:
This short has to do with and older nobleman, his young wife and the charming young rogue friend of the older man. Predictably, the young wife pursues the rogue and he sets her three tasks which will come to vex her husband, who is oblivious to the goings on under his own roof. The principal joke of the short revolves around the pear tree mentioned in the title and you can see it coming from a mile away, but it's good for a chuckle or two. The voice work is excellent, as would be expected, given that it's done by Paul Frees, Agnes Moorehead and Keenan Wynn. Nice score on guitar played by Laurindo Almeida as well. Worth seeking out for a view.
