Stockholm Syndrome

Warning: Spoilers
I usually give films a big pass on logic, as rarely is any ever applied in a movie-verse, but this is just terrible! While it's true that the character of Joanna is very rude and spoiled, we're meant to laugh at the fact that the carpenter she stiffed up and kidnaps her when she gets amnesia! The movie comes with a lot of gags at the expense of Joanna getting used to doing things herself, which admittedly aren't that bad! However, it's hard to laugh when realizing that she's been kidnapped and effectively turned into a servant to a jackass and his four children. They even talk about her as if she's their object when fighting to "keep her", and all of Dean's friends are in on keeping her with him against her will. We're meant to 'awww' at pure, unaltered Stockholm Syndrome as if it were acceptable. The intended idea of a spoiled person learning to do things for themselves, that money isn't all there is, makes this not quite horrific. There are a couple gags in here that aren't that bad. If you can overlook kidnapping, rape by deception, and Stockholm Syndrome, then this movie is grin-worthy at best.
