Even in Belgium the boys used to watch shows like X-men, Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond and Justice League. Aah those were the days.
This series in particularly was my favorite of them all because of the action. It was always on the move, had a lot of action and I liked that because I was a bit of a hyperactive child.
Nowadays I'm 23 years old and I'm re watching the nostalgic cartoon series mixed with some new ones (like Avengers EMH, Young Justice, Teen Titans) and I must say that out of all of them (X-men, Batman TAS, New Adventures Of Batman, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League) Spider-man, what used to be my favorite series, is my least favorite.
It's not that I don't like it, because the show still holds a place in my heart for the nostalgic feeling. So what are the good and the bad points.
+ Animation is great but ... + The voice of spider-man is spot on ! + Most of the episodes are just enjoyable to watch + Season 1 is strong and 3 is very good + Season 2 and 5 are enjoyable too + Villains are very nice (favorite is The Green Goblin and Venom) + It had a pretty good ending

- ... They often re uses scenes which is ridiculous (for example The Lizard smashes spider-man with his tail in the sewers and in another episode they re-use the scene BUT they are fighting in a lab). - No punches were giving in the cartoon, no use of the word kill etc... It's heavily censored - Season 4 was a weak season IMHO - Episodes could use more dialog and story driven motives instead of plain and solid action. The story and dialog is most of the time driven by spider-man who just thinks a lot of the times in his head (what should I do , I miss Mary Jane etc...). - Pacing is not so good in this series. Sometimes i have the urge to pause the episode because it's all too much. It's like the creators wanted to cram every little piece in 20 minutes. - Characters are bland (Like aunt May, Mary Jane, even Peter Parker is a little bit of a douche when it comes to his relationship with MJ)
