Warning: Spoilers
A not bad holiday movie. The best part is the end of the movie where the kids kinda, almost, bring it together in the school Christmas play. Now there is a bit of tension through out the film caused by typical young school kid angst. I wasn't sure what the heck was going on when they threw in the female Russian student. But it actually makes the movie a lot better. She is not only advanced past the American schoolgirl's (they are in elementary school for goodness sakes) but is not afraid to challenge school rules. She even gets caught swapping spit with a boy at school. The most obnoxious girl at school has written the Christmas play that will be put on. Some kids don't like their rolls (what else is new)and some do. Oh yeah, the lead boy is supposedly related to Annette Funicello and since this is in the sixties she is still alive, so they have an actress who looks nothing like Annette play her and she shows up at the very end of the film. As is typical in these kind of movies everything works out in the end. Not bad, not great.
