Nice Try

I wanted to like this movie. It had all the right elements. It had heart, it had sex, it had bitchy queens. What more could a fella ask for. I just couldn't get past the poor production values, the script, and the fact that I could not tell Matt and Mike apart. Were they played by the same actor? Was the Mike from the first scene where he had to park the car the same actor who played him later in the movie? Looks like they did a bait and switch or something.

I have never been much of a drag fan. Maybe because when I was coming of age every gay bar had to have a drag show on the weekends before the dancing and fun could begin. We never really had a choice. That is what made me think this movie took place in the nineties, that and all the flip phones. Does anyone know if this was a period piece or not?

I would recommend you watch the film, if only to see a slice of real life and clubbing. I know they say that that lifestyle is dying, but people will always need to be entertained and need to go out dancing with their friends. And where would all the bachelorettes go for their parties (where they can act so obnoxiously)? I guess we'll just have to leave the sex hook-up part to all the phone apps. So much more efficient anyway.

The best thing in the movie, for me, was seeing Eric Millegan again. He has been so out of the picture since he left Bones, it was nice to see he hasn't changed much (and is still a great actor).

Write a review and let us know what you think. I thought it was a worthy endeavor, but it seems all of us have seen it from some very different angles. Let us hear yours.
