I had huge expectations from Imtiaz Ali and rate him very higher since Socha naa Thaa and Jab we Met ,but Imtiaz disappointed me in Rockstar, I somehow couldn't understand what he meant to say in Rockstar .
All that apart .Tamasha hits the bullseye .The movie since the start builds up on the love story of Tara(Deepika) and Ved(Ranbir) in beautiful Corsica and then goes back slowly to its mainstay.The starting scenes are wonderfully picturized they seem really very relevant in today's youth ,many couples of today's age would find a resemblance in the dialogues and screenplay happening between Ved and Tara,and would find themselves in their place .The dialogues and situations are very realistic and chemistry between them amazing
Now when that part moves into another another , we realize the real crux of the movie.The movie is not just about two souls falling in love and then somehow getting apart and meeting each other after some obstacles in the end of movie.The movie has a strong message as well as a sweet love story combined.The love story is great/sweet because Tara(Deepika) brings out the best in Ved(Ranbir),It tells us that the right partner should bring the best in us or whats hidden good in us and also she should love us for what we are ,not for we are not and also she should understand what real we are .The message seems so relevant as told in final confrontation scene between Ranbir and his Dad.We often change ourselves for the people ,so that people will accept us or try to be so called Normal in the society,but in the process we forget how beautiful and unique we are and what we are .Same example being if somebody loves Direction and has a talent and interest still he would think of doing Engineering or something other because everybody is doing that and it is accepted by their parents and society ,this only about career but in the society we try to project what we are not to become acceptable rather than what we are .For ex: To impress a girl or some people ,we would project ourselves as we are intelligent or suave or sober but in reality one's imperfections also makes us special and complete and our uniqueness only lies in being Ourselves.
This movie tells you and gives that message hence I would rate this movie very higher i.e one of the best of the year .Rest the music of A.R Rahman is awesome and the acting of the leads are also great .
