Just to be clear, this review is coming from the remastered version of the game on the PlayStation 4. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves takes Drake on another journey across the globe to find the cintamani stone before someone else. Which seems to be the formula with Uncharted.
The mechanics of the game seem to be one of the bigger additions this time around. The shooting and hand to hand combat seemed more fine tuned and efficient than the prior game. It was easier to throw grenades in the right spot for one thing. The camera work also seemed improved as there was less of a delay when turning a corner or moments when the camera just didn't turn around quick enough so that you can see the enemy going right at you.
The story, like I said earlier, feels the same as the first but the interactions with your team make up for it. Besides I don't think people are playing Uncharted for the over arching story but instead the action and the funny lines Nathan Drake has to say. Just to put this on here, I think this game has one of the harder boss fights. At least if you play the game on harder or above. It has to do with quick thinking and using your environment to your advantage. I died many a time before beating it on the Crushing difficulty myself.
I think the game has some replay-ability in it especially if you are someone like me who likes to find all of the collectibles. If you are not, there seems to be a lot more characters you can change into this time around. As a story I don't find it to be replay worthy. There is one thing that annoyed me about this game that I have never seen in a game. They actually made me play the same event twice! Usually the second time around a game will make you play part of it and then cut to the next scene but no, I had to play it twice all the way through. Mind you it was't long but still why include it.
Uncharted 2 is still a fun ride that should not be missed by action game fans.
