the charming Munich of 1972
6 February 2017
There is no need to take 'Mädchen die nach München kommen' seriously. 'Girls who come to Munich' (translation form German) is a fun-film, and contains a kind of humor that did well during the 1970-s in West Germany.

In fact, 'Mädchen' is one of many. This sort of films, spearheaded by the 'Tirol'-series, was pretty popular at the time. (Tirol is an Austrian province in the Alps)

Back in 1972, the German town of Munich was one of Europe's hot spots. In that year it hosted the Olympic Games, in a brand new stadium with a very revolutionary transparent tent-like roof.

The film shows six not-related adventures of young females, all willing to settle in this town. And all showing themselves naked at some stage. The most famous of them is Swedish starlet Christina Lindberg, and I guess it's her appearance that keeps 'Mädchen' alive after all these years.

In our days, this film makes a nice watch for those around in the Seventies. Its shooting, soft-porn and humor will carry you back. Just sit down in a comfortable chair, keep your mind blank, and let the girls come over you.
