I recently bought a set of all 63 of the Joe McDoakes shorts from Warner Brothers and I noticed something...the earlier films aren't particularly funny and are more educational in tone. This is definitely the case with "So You Think You're Allergic". It's crammed full of information but the only laugh came at the very end. Worth seeing if you love the McDoakes films...otherwise, easy to skip.
This film finds Joe suffering from allergies. There is a flashback scene where one of Joe's forefathers becomes the first allergist but otherwise it's a lecture on allergens--along with some seemingly spurious information that makes it sound as if many allergies occur because these people are neurotic! Odd to say the least but mildly interesting.
