Warning: Spoilers
"Advent" is an American 7-minute live action short film from this year (2017) and it is one of several little add-ons for the recent blockbuster "Alien: Covenant". The director is once again Luke Scott, son of Ridley. But honestly, I thought this was an unappealing watch, not because of the contents, but because of the cinematic approach. There is very little in here beyond what looks like found footage, a blood puzzle, some other atrocities and references about God and the world. The theory that this is among the more forgettable add-ons is confirmed by looking at its IMDb page here: summaries that have nothing to do with the contents and don't even work grammatically. Fassbinder and Rapace are not part of the cast here. You see Rapace on a photo and that's it. Instead the filmed is from a first-person perspective starring Peter Weyland's son. So yes this is a bit of a mess that adds nothing to the film or franchise. Maybe the set decoration keeps this from being a complete failure. Still, I give this a thumbs-down. Don't watch.
