Steven Stelfox (Nicholas Hoult) is a late 90's no talent record scout/signer who lives off the talents of others. He loves him his cocaine. He does kill a colleague early in the film to get ahead, but things remain subdued until the film's climax. The movie shows the recording industry in a negative light, although I can't recall a film that ever had a positive spin on the industry. Any love for the film must come from an association or love for the main character, who was shallow, lousy at his job, and not even a good killer.
