Skybound: Neat little thriller
22 December 2017
I was shocked to see that this was a German made film, it looks, sounds and plays out like standard Hollywood movie with all their usual tropes.

Skybound tells the story of a group of offensively wealthy twenty somethings who jump aboard their private plane to travel across country to party. Things go wrong when they discover a stowaway, experience electrical difficulties and struggle to land.

Unexpectedly this is a clever little claustophobic thriller that delivered. I'd never heard of it so it was a very nice surprise and except for some questionable acting/writing and a couple of incredibly dumb moments this is really quite good.

It builds up tension perfectly, creates a mystery and manages to end on a high even if it is an eyebrow raising one.

I'd recommend this competent little piece for anyone with a spare 90 minutes. Hardly revolutionary but a decent try all the same.

The Good:

Fantastic story

Looks great

Scarily realistic (Except for moments where it's stupidly not)

The Bad:

Moronic cover that gives too much away

Acting is poor in places

Couple of really bad writing decisions
